• Baldomero Navalón and María Casares, who will replace Inés Juste and Dean Tenerelli as independent directors, bring more renewable energy expertise to the governing body, thus strengthening its experience in the sector.

**La Coruña, 16 May 2025.- ** The Board of Directors of Ecoener has agreed to propose the appointment of Baldomero Navalón Burgos and María Casares Medrano as new independent directors of the company to the next Annual General Meeting on 19 June.
Following the appointment, the Board of Directors of Ecoener will maintain five independent directors—half of its members—, as well as female representation with three female directors, reinforcing its commitment to diversity and corporate governance best practices.

The two proposed new directors have solid professional backgrounds, with profiles that complement and enrich the competence map of the Board, thus increasing its experience in renewable energies.
Baldomero Navalón will be proposed as a member of Ecoener’s Appointments and Remuneration Commission, while María Casares will be proposed as Chairwoman of the Audit Commission, replacing Fernando Lacadena, who, under current regulations, cannot be reappointed to the position. However, it is proposed that he remain a member of this Commission.
Baldomero Navalón Burgos has a degree in civil engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, specialised in hydraulics and energy. He has a master’s degree from IESE (PGD) and the International Institute for Management Development (Global Leadership Program). His background and experience make him one of Spain’s foremost experts in hydroelectric energy. He developed most of his career in the Iberdrola Group, where he worked in senior positions for almost thirty years until 2018. He was the Director of Hydraulic Energy Generation in Spain and Portugal, Director of the Iberian and International Renewable Energy Business, and Global Corporate Director of HR and General Services, as well as a member of the Board of Directors of different companies within the Iberdrola Group and of the owners and operators of the Spanish nuclear power plants. He currently works as independent director of Neoelectra and CBNK.
María Casares Medrano has a degree in Economics from the University of Oviedo having completed the fourth year at the University of Aberdeen (Scotland). She also completed the MBA in the Global Energy Industry from the universities of Strathclyde and Comillas ICAI-ICADE. She is certified as an internal auditor by the International Institute of Internal Auditors (CIA) and holds the Certificate of Risk Assurance (CRMA). She has developed her professional career mainly in the energy sector, first as a financial auditor at PwC and then at Iberdrola, where she held, between 2007 and 2019, different positions as head of Internal Audit and Management Control in different areas and countries. After that, she joined the IMQ Group in the Basque Country, where she worked as head of Internal Audit. In 2021, she was appointed Director of Internal Audit for Tubacex, a position she held until 2024. She currently provides internal audit and consulting services in different companies and participates in initiatives led by the Institute of Internal Auditors.
